How do I measure for a replacement vent cover?

Remove the existing cover and measure the inside duct opening. For floor and ceiling openings, record width × length. For wall openings, record width × height. Do not use the outside dimensions of the old faceplate.

What does a size such as 4 × 10 mean?

It refers to the approximate duct-opening size the vent is designed to fit. The finished outside dimensions are normally larger.

Can floor vent covers be used with carpet?

Yes. Airwinks floor registers can coordinate with carpet as well as tile, hardwood, vinyl, laminate and suitable stone. Review the product instructions before preparing the insert.

Can the same cover be used on the floor, wall and ceiling?

Choose the product collection made for the intended surface. Floor, wall and ceiling installations have different support and installation requirements.

What is the difference between a floor vent cover and a floor register?

A floor vent cover is a general term for the cover over an HVAC opening. A floor register typically includes a way to adjust airflow. Airwinks floor registers have built-in airflow flaps underneath the vent, allowing airflow to be adjusted while the matching flooring insert helps the vent coordinate with the surrounding floor.
